My LifeThe sun rises in the east,
And a golden day begins,
The reflection of the sky on the still water of the lake,
Footprints in the ground that lead onto different areas,
Through fire; through water,
My life unwinds linke a ball of string,
The string at points can be thin and worn,
Though I carry on with help of friends
They always seem to be there
My brothers, though annoying, are always there to help,
The dark forest of pain and hurt always has a clearing,
Keeping my head above water and now I'm on ground,
Though my life is not over with happiness nor strife
I will always have people to paint images of my life
EasterRemember what you love,
you with sand in your teeth
and the feral burn of hunger
in your eyes.
God sends his regrets.
He made you grasping and slow,
in a late hour
when the wine washed low.
Remember what you love.
Fall to your knees in the toss
and the swell, quell
the appetite of the cold black sea.
Beg blessings for your home
and the salt-sick trees.
Reach what lies near:
the fat-faced child, the sweet-soft lamb;
tether the tantrum, trickle the blood.
Offer psalms to what is holy,
whisper the name of what you love
as it bobs in the bleak mad sea.
